Manufacturing Engineer | Medical Device | Global Production Switzerland | Medical Devices | Competitive Salary
I am partnering with a well-established medical device manufacturer to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer within their global operations team. With production plants across four continents, this organization has a strong track record of engineering excellence and process innovation in a regulated manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role with genuine technical ownership. You will define and implement efficient manufacturing processes, lead equipment qualification activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across international sites.
The Role:
* Define and implement highly efficient manufacturing processes in line with overall process targets
* Lead or participate in the specification, procurement, commissioning, and final acceptance testing of production equipment
* Develop and manage maintenance and spare parts supply concepts
* Train setters and operators to optimally set up and run efficient manufacturing processes
* Evaluate and report on process performance, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions
* Plan and lead continuous improvement projects to further optimize manufacturing processes
* Lead prototyping activities, trial runs, feasibility studies, and capability studies
* Implement and maintain process documentation including work instructions, setup guidelines, and tool lists
* Lead defined tasks within the change request process
What They Are Looking For:
* Technical background, preferably an apprenticeship as a polytechnician or equivalent technical qualification
* Additional technical education at a higher level is advantageous
* Proven experience in a similar manufacturing engineering role within industrial manufacturing
* Strong process knowledge combined with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Experience or familiarity with production requirements within the medical device industry is a distinct advantage
* Fluent German and advanced English language skills, both spoken and written
* Open and collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively in a global team as well as independently
* Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 20% of working time
* Systematic approach to problem solving with a proactive mindset
