In this role, you will proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in the peptides and amino acid derivatives market. With a strong “hunting” mindset, you will strengthen the commercial pipeline, drive customer acquisition, and contribute directly to sustainable business growth.
Working closely with technical and operational teams, you will assess project feasibility, support proposal development, and negotiate and close commercial agreements that create long-term value for both customers and the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver against agreed commercial and growth targets
* Identify, target, and acquire new customers through proactive outreach, including cold calling and event-based lead generation
* Build, manage, and grow strong long-term customer relationships
* Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and business cases
* Negotiate and close customer contracts
* Evaluate new project requests in close collaboration with technical and operational teams
* Develop and execute market development and customer acquisition strategies
* Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape
* Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions, and industry events (travel up to ~50%)
Your Profile
* MSc in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Business Development, Sales, or technical-commercial roles
* Experience in the pharmaceutical, peptide, or CDMO environment is preferred
* Existing network within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors is a strong advantage
* Excellent negotiation, closing, and project management skills
* Strong business acumen with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
* Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Fluent in English; German is an advantage
