Senior Accountant – Germany
Reporting to: Europe Controller
Job Summary
Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) provides power circuits for systems found in cloud computing, telecom infrastructure, automotive, industrial and consumer applications. MPS is seeking an energetic, efficient, self‑motivated and resourceful team player to be a member of its Finance staff supporting our activities in Germany and Switzerland. The Senior Accountant reports to the Europe Controller and will be based in Schaffhausen (Switzerland).
Essential Functions
* Provides accounting support and analysis for the Corporate, German and Swiss GAAP.
* Leads day‑to‑day accounting activities and month‑end close by monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal vouchers, and providing management with timely and accurate reporting.
* Tasks include journal entries, balance‑sheet, profit‑and‑loss and cash‑flow reporting, annual accounts and audit processes.
* Quarter and yearly VAT preparations as well as preparation of year‑end closing.
* Regular bank reconciliation with control of accounts receivables and accounts payables.
* Ensures accuracy and compliance of financial records.
* Prepares and/or works with local service providers to coordinate statutory tax and reporting requirements.
* Research tax and regulatory issues as needed.
* Provides government‑relations support as needed for government filings and assisting with the resolution of corporate matters.
* Develops cash‑flow management.
* Supports budget process.
* Identifies and proposes accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions and helps to ensure that the day‑to‑day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies, procedures and GAAP.
* Supports audits and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
* Supports ERP rollout for FI modules.
* Supports ad‑hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
* Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
* +5 years experience in similar roles.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Self‑motivated with a high level of initiative.
* Attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerBI.
* Fluent in English and German; French or another EU language is a plus.
