The Prototyping & FW group of CSEM’s Medtech Business Unit, based in Bern and Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a Senior Electronics Technician .
Place of work will be Neuchâtel, and occasionally Bern .
Your mission
Your mission will be to actively contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of innovative electronic systems. Working closely with R&D engineers and external suppliers, you support the full product development lifecycle from early prototypes to validated solutions and transfer to production.
Your responsibilities
Contribute to schematic design activities in collaboration with R&D engineers
PCB layout
PCB assembly performed internally and externally, including follow‑up and coordination with subcontractors
Co-design (electronics together with mechanics/housing)
Support design verification, validation, and characterization activities
Support industrialization and knowledge transfer
Perform advanced PCB rework and debugging on high‑density boards (small form factor, fine‑pitch components, uBGA)
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and procedures
Gathering of physiological data in the frame of Medtech projects
Contribute to maintaining and improving the quality system in order to comply with all applicable regulations and standards, especially with ISO 13485
To be responsible for specific infrastructures/laboratories
Your profile
Know-how
ES degree in Electronics (Technicien ES en électronique / Elektroniker HF or equivalent)
Minimum 10 years of experience as an electronics technician in an R&D environment
Strong expertise in analog layout, especially in low‑noise signals
Strong expertise in digital layout, especially in high‑speed signals (FPGA, MCU, Ethernet, USB, …)
Good knowledge of Altium software
Experience in co-design with Solidworks or equivalent
Practical experience in electronics assembly
Proven experience with prototyping, testing, and validation
Strong hands‑on experience in advanced PCB rework
Know-how to use LPKF machine (PCB milling machine) and 3D printer is an asset
Familiarity with quality and development standards (ISO 9001, IEC, IPC, etc.)
Fluency in French, good English skills are considered as mandatory

Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and multidisciplinary teams

Flexibility to work efficiently in a prototyping environment
