Job Title: Technical Support Specialist – Product & Application Engineering
Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Technical Support Specialist to join our Technical Services & Development (TS&D) adhesives team. In this role, you will act as the product responsible person, managing the technical lifecycle of assigned commercial products. Your primary focus will be on overseeing product localization and modifications, ensuring they meet industry testing standards and regulations while delivering exceptional value to our clients and production teams. The role requires lab work, data analysis, strong cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales, as well as proficiency in digital skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
Key Responsibilities
Product Technical Ownership
* Maintain accurate specifications, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and product documentation in the company portal.
* Update product data as improvements, second sourcing, or localization activities occur.
* Serve as the internal technical expert for assigned commercial products.
Development & Testing
* Participate in project planning, development experiments, and reporting/documentation.
* Conduct hands-on laboratory testing, including:
o Mechanical, electrical, rheological, and thermal conductivity testing
o Mixing/formulation evaluations and pilot-scale trials
* Document results with clear conclusions and recommendations.
Customer Applications & Support
* Support customer trials and application testing.
* Troubleshoot quality or performance issues and manage technical claims.
* Provide technical data, TDS, and application guidance to customers and commercial teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, and R&D on product improvements and second-source qualifications.
* Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
* Hands-on lab experience with material testing or formulation.
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, rheological, or thermal testing.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
* Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
* Proficiency in digital skills, including Microsoft office and relevant software applications.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in product development or manufacturing, with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance specific to adhesive products.
* Demonstrated project management expertise, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
* Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to adhesives.
* Proficiency in English and German, both spoken and written.
