We excel in R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization, striving to improve people's health and quality of life worldwide, protecting our tomorrow.We are now seeking a Global Category Manager for Raw Materials including the responsibilities of developing and implementing the category strategy for our Raw Materials spend in full alignment with business goals. This is a newly established role as part of our Supply Chain/Procurement strategy which was implemented in 2024.This hybrid position, located in either Kvistgaard, Denmark; or Bern, Switzerland requires travel to other Bavarian Nordic locations as needed 15% and reports to the Head of Global Procurement.**Key responsibilities**As the Global Category Manager for Raw Materials, your main focus is to develop and implement a category strategy to provide resources on time, minimizing risk to customers and ensuring optimum price. You will build strong networks and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members on a global level. Your deep understanding of Raw Material market in vaccine industry and category trends will be essential in translating insights into measurable business value.* Develop and maintain category plans that identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, drive cost savings, manage risk, improve safety, drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of categories managed* Supervise, plan, manage and assume complete responsibility for all activities and processes associated with the categories assigned* Perform procurement reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities* Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization* Address strategic vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery* Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors to further strategic priorities* Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within the category to improve business performance* Develop best procurement practices for the category* Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations**Skills and Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, business or related field, an advanced degree is a plus* Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus* +7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or related field delivering similar job outcomes* Proven track record of managing global categories and leading strategic procurement initiatives delivery valueThis role is part of our Supply Chain global organization established in 2024 and with your solid experience you will contribute to shape our Supply Chain strategy going forward.
