To strengthen our team in Global IT, we are looking for a dedicated PI Data Historian System Engineer (f/m/d), 80 - 100%.
Your tasks:
* Manage the full system lifecycle: development, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of the PI Data Historian System.
* Administer a 24/7 operational PI System, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Lead change, incident, and problem management in collaboration with IT / OT, cross-functional stakeholders, and end users.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
* Design, implement, and optimize data historian solutions, including integration with equipment, control systems and third-party applications.
* Conduct performance analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Design and configure complex data tags tailored to project / business needs.
* Develop custom interfaces and connectors to enhance data integration.
* Collaborate with other departments and external vendors.
* Create and maintain comprehensive GMP-compliant documentation across the system lifecycle.
* Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with internal, industry and regulatory standards.
Your profile:
* Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* At least 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in system design, implementation, and technical project leadership.
* Proven experience with the AVEVA PI Data Historian system.
* Strong background in managing and administering production‑critical applications.
* Familiarity with hosting, networking, and cybersecurity principles is a plus.
* Experience with Computerized System Validation (CSV), compliance, and data integrity.
* Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
* In‑depth knowledge of data integration and historian system architecture.
* Understanding of industrial/manufacturing processes and automation systems.
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation of tasks and workflows.
* Experience with data contextualization, visualization, and reporting platforms.
* Fluent English and good German knowledge required.
