Principal engineer (m/f/d) - hydraulic

Job Description Summary As Principal Engineer (m/f/d) – Hydraulic (Open), you are responsible for validating hydraulic designs and guaranteed hydraulic performance for selected projects and proposals, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, performance targets, and engineering standards. You provide expert technical guidance, support troubleshooting activities, contribute to the development of Design Practices (DPs), and help strengthen the organization's hydraulic engineering expertise through mentoring and knowledge sharing. As a senior member of the Hydraulic Center of Excellence (CoE), you collaborate closely with other technical experts to maintain and develop hydraulic know-how, support innovation initiatives, and, when required, directly perform hydraulic design activities. You report functionally to the Consulting Engineer Design and hierarchically to the PSP Design Team Leader. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Validate designs developed in the CoE for the machine type concerned. Validate guaranteed hydraulic performance at the proposal stage. Participate in firefighting and troubleshooting activities until feedback is incorporated into the relevant DPs. Formalize the documentation of know-how (writing DPs) and audit the proper application of DPs. Required Qualifications: Engineering degree in physics or fluid mechanics Extensive experience in turbine design Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Proven ability to document, plan, disseminate, and manage programs that develop the understanding, knowledge, and capabilities of the business Analytical and problem-solving skills Proven leadership skills in defining cutting-edge solutions in at least one technical specialty, coupled with the ability to teach and enforce standard practices in that area Deep understanding of cost and delay impact on project Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No
