Job Role:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead complex strategic projects and studies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver technical and service aspects of projects and studies for clients
* Determine the preliminary design of projects with full responsibility for achieving results
* Collaborate with internal departments and external customers, ensuring continuous communication and high standards of work
* Coordinate project meetings at various sites, representing the business at kick-off meetings
* Facilitate customer teleconferences, visits, and audits, providing timely reports and updates
* Collaborate with Quality Assurance/Regulatory personnel to drive problem reports to closure
* Translate customer needs into quotations and monitor/amend quotes and budgets as required
* Provide accurate financial forecasting and reporting
* Ensure revenue recognition for projects and verify final production information prior to invoice release
* Lead cross-functional process improvement activities as required
* Work closely together with account managers to achieve overall customer satisfaction
* Apply GXP principles in all areas of responsibility
* Train, mentor, and lead new colleagues within and across teams
Project Management:
* Manage large, complex project portfolios or multiple client projects, planning and delivering at all stages
* Structure projects in line with client strategy, optimizing processes to identify needs, define resource requirements, track performance, and identify improvement opportunities
* Develop methods to proactively identify, monitor, and evaluate project challenges, partnering with cross-functional teams to identify solutions and deliver positive outcomes
* Define, track, and negotiate expenses, budgets, and revisions in response to project achievements and performance
* Possess extensive understanding of customer contract terms and conditions, skilled in negotiation skills and techniques, and coach others in effective contract management
Client Relationship Management:
* Perform comprehensive need analyses, reflecting an understanding of the customer's target market and value proposition
* Demonstrate detailed knowledge of Thermo Fisher's solutions portfolio and industry, capable of articulating how Thermo Fisher's value proposition is superior to competitive offerings
Technical Knowledge:
* Demonstrate advanced technical capabilities and strong expertise in site processes, industry requirements, and problem-solving
* Manage projects efficiently in different systems to provide accurate forecasting information to core teams, leadership, and clients, maintaining accountability for individual and team outcomes
* Advance the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes, procedures, and outputs
Project Leadership:
* Collaborate effectively, build business relationships, and bring new perspectives forward to overcome challenges
* Craft SMART objectives and form realistic action roadmaps with timelines
* Assume leadership roles on projects as appropriate, manage and support cross-functional teams, and strategically plan effective timelines for timely completion
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Years of Experience: 6+ years of experience in client-facing project management within the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry preferred; experience with clinical trials preferred but not required. 4 years of experience if holding an advanced degree
