Overview
Develop and execute trading strategies in European spot gas markets. Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and price drivers to identify trading opportunities. Optimize forward gas portfolios in coordination with power trading and cross-commodity opportunities. Manage hedging activities and structured products linked to gas market dynamics.
Responsibilities
* Leverage advanced analytics, models, and data tools to support trading decisions and forecast market movements.
* Collaborate with origination, risk management, and analytics teams to align trading strategies with company objectives.
* Maintain and build relationships with market participants, including exchanges, brokers, and clients.
* Stay updated on regulatory and policy changes impacting gas markets.
Qualifications
* Degree in a quantitative discipline.
* Initial experience in spot gas trading, with a good understanding of European gas markets and their interconnection with power markets.
* Background or good understanding in gas logistics.
* Proficiency in analysing gas market fundamentals, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical influences.
* Advanced quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency in Python, R, or other relevant programming languages is a plus.
* Familiarity with trading platforms and exchanges such as ICE, PEGAS, or similar.
* Strong risk management skills and the ability to operate within defined risk limits.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
