Job Description:
The Product excellence team ensures product quality, reliability, and performance throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include design change tasks, customer requests, material updates, and supplier transitions. The role involves coordinating activities to support cost, quality, and factory goals for daily production and new product launches, as well as maintaining and updating technical documentation related to products.
How you’ll make an impact
* Be part of the Mechanical design and engineering team, specializing in Medium Voltage Surge Arresters.
* Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, bill of materials, etc.
* Develop special customer solutions in coordination with Sales and Product Management.
* Lead change management activities related to design adjustments and material changes.
* Coordinate design activities with Global Product Support.
* Maintain and improve product quality through engineering processes and testing methodologies.
* Identify and resolve complex product-related issues, often collaborating with other teams.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure product success.
* Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring for colleagues and the business.
Your background
* Graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in Mechanical Design for High Voltage manufacturing industry is a plus.
* Good understanding of ISO/IEC standards.
* Basic electrical concepts such as clearance/creepage and basic layout should be understood.
* Experience in electrical component design is advantageous.
* Proficiency in CAD software, especially 3D modeling software like Creo, is required.
* Team player, open communicator, willing to contribute, and able to work independently when needed.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
