About the Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Culinary department, the Senior Chef de Partie is responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous chef to supervise and run all sections at the kitchen they have been assigned to. The Senior Chef de Partie reports to the Head Chef.
Responsibilities
* Leading your assigned kitchen station and ensuring smooth daily operations while adhering to all quality and hygiene standards
* Ensuring flawless preparation, high quality, and attractive presentation of dishes in line with our elevated culinary expectations
* Actively controlling and minimizing food waste through efficient and forward‑thinking work practices
* Contributing creatively and supporting the development of new dishes and food concepts
* Requesting supplies in coordination with your supervisor and monitoring the daily goods receipt
* Overseeing daily hygiene controls and ensuring cleanliness in accordance with HACCP guidelines
Qualifications
* A completed culinary apprenticeship and 2–3 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in upscale hospitality or gastronomy
* High flexibility and resilience, including availability for weekend and holiday shifts
* Creativity, strong attention to detail, and the willingness to bring your own culinary signature to the team
* Excellent communication skills, strong teamwork abilities, and well‑developed organizational competence
* Leadership strength and experience in supervising your own station
* Commitment, a structured and independent working style, and a strong sense of quality
* Very good German and English skills; additional languages are an advantage
