Your tasks
The main purpose of the Business Controller is to act as a global, cross-technology business partner to the Industry Segment leadership team. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting both operational and strategic decision-making by delivering accurate analyses and recommending actions to improve performance. Acting as a proactive sparring partner and fully embedded in the business team, you will drive initiatives that contribute to the growth and long-term success of the Segment Industry (CHF 300+ million in net sale).
1. Analyses operational results on deviations from budget/previous year and monitors financial performance of the Segment. Anticipates and addresses corrective actions, tracks implementation plans and measures improvement
2. Establishes periodical reports and prepares business and budget review meetings for the Segment
3. Drives financial business planning, budgeting and forecast process in the Segment
4. Provides business analysis, cost calculations, inventory turn and other ad hoc analysis
5. Prepares investment decisions, manages the Capex approval process and executes according to the Delegation of Authority (DoA)
6. Collaborates closely with the Segment, Corporate Controlling and Company Controlling
7. Runs production controlling activities for the Radio-Frequency Technology for the production site Herisau incl. the definition of cost standard accounting
8. Supports the business units, the market- and sales teams in financial decision making
9. Interacts actively with the global site controller community
10. Serves as a member of the Industry Segment management team, technology & operations management team and collaborates closely with Segment COO and Group CFO
Your profile
11. Higher education (Master, University) in Business or Finance Management
12. Prior leadership experience is a plus
13. High IT affinity and in-depth IT knowledge, mainly SAP S/4 (FI, CO, MM, PP), Power BI, Office applications
14. Professional proficiency in English and very beneficial in German
15. Demonstrate an active drive of further developing today’s finance processes & tools in close cooperation with the business
16. Intercultural competence, positive mindset and hands-on attitude
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication across all organizational levels
18. Ability to navigate complex, multi-technology and multi-country organization and challenge stakeholders constructively
19. Willingness to actively shape business development together with the Segment management team (strong Business partner)
