Tax Manager EUCAN (m/f/d) Location: Zürich, Switzerland Duration: 01/05/2026 - 30/09/2027
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a strong network with business partners across the countries in scope; analyse tax implications of transactions and provide high‑quality tax support to stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Business Development, Supply Chain, HR and Country Management
Ensure professional, transparent and timely communication with tax authorities at federal, regional and local levels
Take full accountability for corporate income tax compliance and tax audit defence within the region, including coordination with Takeda Business Solutions (TBS Tax Solutions) in Poland and local external tax service providers
Proactively identify, manage and mitigate tax risks across the assigned countries
Actively lead and manage tax audits, aligning on information and data requests and coordinating audit defence strategies with global tax functional leads
Streamline, monitor and oversee procedures related to indirect taxes, withholding taxes and other relevant taxes
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes in the region with potential material business impact and inform the tax planning team accordingly
Proactively evaluate tax risks and discuss appropriate mitigating actions with relevant stakeholders
Monitor and coordinate transfer pricing documentation and adjustments in collaboration with the Transfer Pricing team
Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
Act as a trusted business partner, bridging local, regional and global tax considerations while reducing complexity and improving processes and communication
Requirements
University degree in Accounting, Finance or Law; Master's degree in Economics, Finance or Law preferred, ideally with a specialisation in Taxation
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a tax role within the pharmaceutical industry or a Big 4 environment
Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and fiscal frameworks in the region, including Eastern Europe
Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes
Strong tax research, analytical and presentation skills
Multilingual with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyse complex matters, present options clearly and influence without formal authority
Proven ability to manage tax compliance, audits and litigation, including coordination of external service providers
Experience working across diverse stakeholders in Tax, Finance, GBS, IT and external consulting firms
Preferred
CPA and/or recognised tax specialist certification in line with regional standards
Prior experience within Takeda or the global life sciences industry
Interest in tax technology and process innovation
Experience working with shared service centre models
Background in public accounting
Fluency in at least one Eastern European language
In Switzerland, for contract roles it is mandatory for the candidate to be a Swiss citizen or a European passport holder.
