Your Tasks
1. BakerHicks is a leading consultancy in the power transmission and distribution sector in the UK, expanding its power team in the DACH region, and is seeking an ambitious High-voltage Cable Engineer to support this growth.
2. You will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of high voltage cable systems from 11kV to 400kV, onshore or offshore.
3. This includes producing cable system design calculations, cable rating calculations, thermomechanical and electromagnetic force calculations, and collaborating with CAD technicians on cable route layouts and trench cross sections.
4. You must have full proficiency in German and a good level of English.

Your Responsibilities
* Provide High Voltage Cable systems and installation designs; act as lead cable engineer/planner.
* Collaborate with UK design teams to ensure compliance with local standards.
* Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of design scope.
Your Profile
* Experience in design, calculations, reports, and drawings for HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or HV renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region.
* Full working proficiency in German and good English skills.
* Specialist knowledge in High Voltage Substations.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to BakerHicks offices in Basel and London.
Traveling Activity
Projects typically last 6-24 months. Work is mainly at the client site, with some possibility for remote work. Employees have opportunities to work on diverse projects and visit different cities, returning home on weekends.
