The role
Reporting to the Head of Monitoring, you will be the eyes and ears of the IT system. You ensure the availability and performance of the infrastructures, equipment, software and processes supporting the data. In order to anticipate anomalies, batch delays, FileSystem problems, etc.
Your Responsibilities
* Batch Job Management - monitor the end-of-day batch and ensure that it starts on the prescribed time, perform first level analysis if there’s failure, perform recovery and involve other stakeholders when necessary. Do a milestone check of the critical jobs to ensure they complete on time and do the proper escalation if there’s any delay.
* Application System and Infrastructure Monitoring – constantly monitor the alerts from the monitoring tool that tells whether an application, server, website, service, disk space or other system resources are having issue and inform the support persons if necessary.
* Service Requests and User Support – handling of user requests such as running of one time job, scheduling of new job, copying and resending of file, troubleshooting transactional problem and involving other experts if necessary.
* Software Release Support – support the regular release of new software from development teams by stopping and resuming the batch when necessary and ensuring all systems are available for user sanity testing after release deployment.
* System Patch and Upgrade Support – support the regular third party system upgrade and patches and minimize any disruption.
* Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Support – awareness and readiness of the disaster recovery plans to ensure continuous operation and minimize disruption in case of disaster.
Your core competencies
* You have a Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* You need to be Swiss Resident or open to relocate
* Minimum 3 years' experience with monitoring and evaluating system performance and performing tuning functions to achieve optimal system efficiency.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in batch Processing
* Hands on experience in TWS (Tivoli Dynamic Works Console) to create a New Plan, and reverse knowledge to scratch a plan analysis.
* TWS administration experience with its functions to Plan, Install, Configure, Upgrade, Maintain and Troubleshoot failures
* Good knowledge in Unix / Linux Scripts & Shell Scripting
* Proven in Troubleshooting & Resolution of problems with the Master Domain Manager and FTA Unlinks.
* Practical knowledge in troubleshooting Failed jobs and file system full issues
* Knowledge in ticketing tools Jira & HP Quality Center
* You are autonomous, tenacious and rigorous. Boredom won't be part of your day, but you need to know how to organize yourself to manage the multiple issues underway.
