THE ROLE
We are seeking a Lead Internal Auditor with proven expertise in the shipping industry to lead and execute internal audit assignments across MSC’s global operations. This role involves assessing performance, operational, financial, and compliance risks, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance internal controls and business processes.
You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across HQ and local entities, ensuring the highest professional standards and audit methodologies are applied consistently.
YOUR IMPACT
As Lead Internal Auditor, you will:
1. Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audit missions, both on-site and remotely.
2. Conduct pre-audit risk assessments and define audit scopes aligned with business objectives.
3. Apply international audit standards and MSC’s internal audit methodology to assess controls and identify risks.
4. Present and discuss audit findings with senior management and business owners, proposing impactful remedial actions.
5. Oversee the follow-up of audit recommendations and support entities in implementing corrective measures.
6. Mentor and guide junior auditors, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
7. Contribute to the development of audit programs and methodologies, identifying emerging risks and industry trends.
8. Manage ad-hoc audit projects and provide strategic input to Internal Audit leadership.
YOUR BACKGROUND
9. Master’s degree in Auditing, Corporate Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
10. Minimum 5 years of internal audit experience, ideally in a global B2B environment, with prior external audit exposure.
11. Proven experience in the shipping industry is mandatory.
12. Strong understanding of international auditing standards and risk management frameworks.
13. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
14. Advanced proficiency in Excel, MS Office, ERP systems (, SAP), and data analysis tools.
15. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
16. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
17. Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and ability to work independently under pressure.
CONTRACT DETAILS
18. Based in Geneva.
19. Full Time.
20. Starting ASAP.
21. Travel: Willingness to travel internationally (~40%).
22. EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit (B or C) required.
