Role Overview
Our client, a leading Retail & Food Manufacturing organization, is running SAP to support large‑scale food production. The current system landscape is not performing efficiently due to legacy infrastructure and outdated SAP solutions.
We are seeking an experienced SAP Solutions Architect who has deep expertise across both technical and functional SAP domains. The architect will assess the current system, identify root causes, design a future‑state roadmap, and propose solutions that improve performance without disrupting production operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend on‑site workshops in Zurich and visit manufacturing facilities to understand current system behavior.
* Engage with stakeholders across business, IT, and operations to assess challenges and gather insights.
* Review existing SAP documentation, architecture diagrams, integrations, and process flows.
* Analyze how SAP is currently running within food production operations.
* Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and design flaws in the legacy SAP landscape.
* Define a clear SAP optimization and transformation roadmap to stabilize and modernize the system.
* Propose solutions that minimize operational downtime and ensure continuity of manufacturing processes.
* Oversee high-level integration mapping, ensuring modules communicate efficiently.
* Provide expert recommendations for both technical improvements and functional redesign.
Required Skills & Expertise
* Strong end‑to‑end experience as an SAP Solutions Architect in complex enterprise environments.
* Deep understanding of SAP’s technical layers, including:
* ABAP
* BASIS
* Integration (PI/PO, interfaces, IDocs, APIs)
* Broad functional understanding across SAP modules, ideally including:
* SD, MM, WM, FI, PP, QM, GTS
* Proven experience in manufacturing or food production SAP environments (highly preferred).
* Ability to analyze how modules interact and ensure end‑to‑end process efficiency.
* Strong capability to assess legacy SAP solutions and propose modern designs.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to create architecture roadmaps, solution designs, and transformation plans.
