FPGA Design Engineer – Space Products

Your mission
* Specification, design and validation through review, analysis, and testing for the conceptual and detailed development of digital electronics (FPGA, VHDL) for both space and terrestrial applications.
* Provide assistance to electrical subsystem engineering throughout the entire process.
* Ensure compliance with industrial and space business norms and standards (e.g., ECSS) with a specific focus on digital electronics.
* Contribute to process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
* A university degree in space engineering or electrical/electronics fields.
* At least 5 years of professional experience in design and analysis engineering for space (or aerospace) components/instruments, including application of ESA‑ECSS standards.
* Excellent theoretical and practical experience in the development of digital electronics and communication equipment (e.g., coding, modulation, signal‑to‑noise, communication protocols & algorithms).
* Proven extensive experience in utilizing design, verification, and analysis tools such as Mentor Graphics Modelsim, Microsemi Libero IDE, Python, TCL/TK, and MATLAB.
* Experience in using version control and configuration management (Git, SAP).
* Strong interest and skills in interdisciplinary development of complex systems for space applications.
* Team‑player oriented and able to take leading project roles.
* Fluent in English; good knowledge of German (particularly spoken) is a strong plus.
