Overview
A completed 20-minute short film, intended for film festival submission, requires a skilled freelance colourist to elevate its visual storytelling through expert colour grading. This is a single-project opportunity for a personal film based in Los Angeles, with the flexibility to work remotely. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cinematic colour, a passion for independent film, and the ability to enhance the emotional tone and visual consistency of the project. Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive colour grading for a 20-minute short film, ensuring visual consistency and cinematic quality throughout.
* Collaborate with the filmmaker to understand the creative vision and desired mood for each scene.
* Apply advanced colour correction techniques to enhance the film’s narrative and emotional impact.
* Prepare and deliver final graded files in the required formats for festival submission.
* Address feedback and make necessary revisions to achieve the desired look.
Requirements
* Proven experience in colour grading for short films, features, or similar video projects.
* Proficiency with industry-standard colour grading software such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.
* Strong understanding of colour theory, visual storytelling, and cinematic aesthetics.
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the filmmaker.
