About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused L1 Desktop Support Engineer to join our onsite IT support team at Adidas Root, Switzerland. The successful candidate will provide first-level technical assistance to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, hardware, and software within a dynamic, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT peripherals.
* Handle installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows and macOS operating systems.
* Support Microsoft 365 applications, Outlook, Teams, and other productivity tools.
* Assist users with network connectivity issues (LAN/WLAN/VPN).
* Manage incident tickets via ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.) and ensure timely resolution.
* Maintain accurate asset inventory records and support hardware replacement or upgrade activities.
* Coordinate with L2/L3 support teams for escalations when required.
* Ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection standards.
* Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong communication with end-users.
Requirements
* Proven experience (1–3 years) in Desktop / IT Support or similar technical roles.
* Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, and common IT applications.
* Familiar with Active Directory, Office 365, remote desktop tools, and basic networking.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Must hold a valid Swiss work permit and be located within commuting distance of Root, Switzerland.
* Fluency in English and German (spoken and written) is required.
Preferred Skills
* Basic understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
* Experience with hardware imaging, deployment tools, and antivirus management.
* Exposure to corporate IT environments (retail or manufacturing preferred).
