SAP Basis Team Lead Medical Device Sector (German Speaking)

This is a full-time, permanent in-house role with attractive home-office flexibility.
What you will do
Lead and grow a small team of SAP Basis engineers (3 members), providing technical direction, coaching, and day-to-day guidance
Take responsibility for the stable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a broad SAP landscape, including S/4HANA and several business-critical systems
Ensure availability, performance, and security across on-prem and cloud-integrated components
Take part in architectural discussions and help define future roadmap, standards, and technology choices
Collaborate closely with development, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
Coordinate and manage external service partners for operations, upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting
Oversee key activities such as patching, updates, monitoring, HA/DR, release management, and performance optimisation
Contribute to SAP-related projects including migrations, rollouts, enhancements, and cloud initiatives
Maintain clear documentation and uphold structured change, incident, and problem-management processes
What you bring
Several years of experience as a Senior SAP Basis Administrator, ideally with exposure to S/4HANA
Leadership experience formal people management, acting team lead, or strong mentoring/coordinating responsibilities
Deep understanding of SAP security, authorizations, system governance, and compliance
Experience with modern SAP landscapes, hybrid environments, and cloud-related components
A hands-on mindset with the ability to take ownership, make decisions, and assert yourself respectfully
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with technical and business stakeholders
Background in computer science, IT engineering, or equivalent professional experience
Willingness to support occasional off-hours maintenance
Fluent German (C1) and good English
