You will be part of the Research & Computing Sector (RCS), where the Scientific Information Service (SIS) supports scientists worldwide in accessing information and promoting open science practices. The service hosts the CERN Open Science Office and participates in international projects to uphold CERN's values of openness and collaboration.
In this role, you will lead discussions and governance processes related to open science across CERN. You will own projects related to open science practices, both within CERN and in collaboration with international partners, and promote CERN's open science values to stakeholders across disciplines. As part of CERN's central open science office, you will support the implementation of CERN's open science policies and ensure the effective operation of tools, services, and collaborations in this domain.
Functions As Open Science Manager, you will join a dynamic, self-organized team emphasizing cross-departmental collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the evolution of CERN's Open Science policy by facilitating stakeholder exchanges and translating community needs into actionable policies.
Representing CERN at international conferences and projects, advocating for CERN's leadership in open science.
Engaging with strategic stakeholders and managing international projects and collaborations.
Organizing the operation of cross-departmental initiatives in open science and information management, including stakeholder management.
Supervising a team of specialists, sharing knowledge, and fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent experience in Information Management or related fields. Required experience includes:
Managing open science or scholarly publishing projects operationally and coordinatively.
Understanding open science strategies, open access, and research outputs.
Knowledge of scientific publishing procedures and academic best practices.
Engagement with the scholarly community or existing networks in publishing.
Experience in managing diverse teams is advantageous.
Technical Competencies Project management: organization, planning, control.
