As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop scalable backend solutions for large-scale data processing environments. You will own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop scalable backend solutions for large-scale data processing environments
* Take ownership across the full software development lifecycle – from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
* Build clean, efficient, and maintainable code using object-oriented programming (primarily Java)
* Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g. Swiss Federal Diploma in IT)
* 2–6 years of professional experience in backend development, ideally with Java
* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
* Hands‑on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit
* Solid knowledge of database systems; MongoDB experience is a plus
* Familiarity with technologies such as Spring Boot, Kafka, or Flink is an advantage
* Experience with Big Data or high-volume data processing is beneficial
* Structured and proactive working style with a strong sense of ownership
* Good command of English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
* Valid Swiss work permit (CH/EU/EFTA, B or C)
