Lindt & Sprüngli, a global leader in premium chocolate with a rich history spanning over 180 years, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive global Health and Safety Management System (H&S MS). This role is essential in our commitment to zero accidents and ensuring every employee's safety.
The Health and Safety Manager will report to the Head of EHS within the Operations department and will be responsible for designing, executing, and embedding safety initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and behavioral safety skills, extensive knowledge of health and safety standards, and proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and oversee the global health and safety management improvement roadmap.
2. Lead our long-term cultural change towards safety.
3. Develop and embed safety programs to improve performance, including audits and incident investigations.
4. Monitor and communicate safety performance across the group.
5. Build a global network of stakeholders to integrate safety practices.
6. Create and review safety standards and performance targets.
7. Track program progress, opportunities, and risks, reporting to the H&S Steerco.
8. Identify external support needs to achieve safety objectives.
9. Contribute to external reports, such as the Sustainability Report.
10. Collaborate with the Head of EHS on strategic planning and external regulatory impacts.
11. Work with the EHS Reporting Manager to improve safety reporting tools.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in a technical or science field, supplemented by health and safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
* At least 10 years of frontline FMCG experience (preferably in manufacturing) and 10 years in global safety management, totaling a minimum of 20 years of professional experience.
* Expertise in key risk areas such as process safety, machinery safety, electrical safety, and incident management.
* Deep familiarity with ISO 45001 standards and experience in their implementation and auditing.
* Proven ability to lead behavioral safety programs and drive organizational change.
* Experience managing complex, global projects with stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
* Project management qualification is a plus.
* Strong influencing and communication skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working across diverse teams and cultures.
* Experience in a decentralized, matrixed, or diverse global organization.
* Openness to evolving responsibilities as the safety program matures.
