The Oilseed Risk Management group currently consists of 8 team members; four located in Chicago, IL, and four in Rolle, SWZ. The group serves three main functions:
1. Executing hedges for the oilseed complex for our cash/physical traders worldwide. ADM utilizes a central hedging system to limit direct access to futures and derivatives trading while maintaining effective risk management and hedging capabilities.
2. Providing general risk management advice and executing strategies including options, futures, and spread trading to manage ADM's risk.
3. Optimizing hedges by leveraging information from ADM's extensive physical trading network.
The core theme of the group is risk management, serving internal traders/merchandisers as clients, prioritizing their needs.
Required
* Experience in agricultural markets, preferably with physical cash markets.
* Understanding and experience in trading derivatives markets, preferably in agricultural markets.
* Numerate, analytical, disciplined, with a strong work ethic and interest in global macro markets and specific markets relevant to ADM.
* Ability to think creatively and formulate ideas, reports, and strategies to add value.
* Thorough understanding of physical cash market dynamics and processing business risk positions related to ADM's operations.
* Team-oriented mindset; risk management focus over individual trading.
Daily Functions
* Manage daily internal order flow from destination, processing, and origination facilities across EMEA.
* Determine optimal hedge and execution strategies using CBOT, ICE, and EURONEXT Agriculture derivatives.
* Manage daily positions and act as a conduit between ADMSI and internal business units.
* Participate in discussions on trade flows and supply/demand grids.
* Develop and share market opinions based on technical analysis, derivatives market structure, and fundamental analysis.
* Prepare market reports, retrieve data, and handle ad-hoc requests as part of the desk’s internal services.
