The Team Leader Industrial Design is responsible for managing and coordinating the industrial design area, leading mechanical engineers and collaborating with other R&D teams such as System engineering and Embedded systems team providing the inputs for the functionality and electrical and electronics designs. The role ensures the complete industrialisation process from concepts to manufacturing along our processes using ERP and design tools such as SAP, Creo and others. The Team Leader controls the mechanical development and design of customer-specific systems such as High Power RF Amplfier (e.g. 500MHz, 300kW) and High Voltage DC Power Supply (e.g. 55kV DC, 6MW) Systems in compliance with technical standards, deadlines, and cost targets, while promoting continuous improvement along the design and production process.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development
* Leading the Mechanical Design team
* Creation of mechanical construction drawings on CREO for customer-specific Power Electronics Systems in close collaboration with the System Engineering Team, Project Management and customer
* Preparation of mechanical designs including bills of materials and production documentation integrating electrical and electronic equipment defined by the system Engineering team on electrical diagrams and Bill of Materials.
* Dimensioning and design of components and complete assemblies in accordance with applicable standards and safety regulations in close cooperation with the other R&D Teams
* Development and Design of air and water cooling distribution systems
Technical and Documentation Management
* Preparation of manufacturing and production documents (Drawings and BOMs) for internal use and for sub-suppliers
* Preparation and release of internal orders (IB/IO) to trigger procurement and production processes via SAP Providing inputs for the system documentation (O&M Manuals) and to ensure correct availability of spare parts
* Administration and archiving of design documents to ensure correct revisioning and permanent accessibility of the complete product documentation.
* Leading and supporting the Engineering Change Management Process
* Assignment and management of component ID numbers and support for drawing/change notification processes
