Job Title: Engineering Leadership
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our engineering teams in a critical area of our business.
About the Role:
* As the head of engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering, maintenance, and calibration of assigned assets and systems.
* You will lead a team of senior engineers, engineers, and specialists, providing guidance on human resource management, including qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions, and discipline issues.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up and manage a team of EI&C Plant Engineers, EI&C engineers, and specialists, giving leadership to the team with full responsibility for all aspects of human resource management.
2. Responsible for resource and vacation planning of the assigned team members with regard to the fulfillment of all production orders.
3. Control own cost, identifies and implements cost reduction measures.
4. Ensure a good information exchange from upper management levels to the team and the other way around through regularly scheduled team meetings and escalation of issues.
5. Implement the LONZA culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork, and continuous improvement even outside own area of responsibility.
6. Implement a vision as service provider in his/her organization.
7. Initiate, prepare, and manage feasibility and engineering studies, projects, and investments.
8. Responsible for all aspects regarding engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration of the assigned assets/systems like DeltaV, MES, PLC's, and User access administration in coordination and support from local Systems Specialist teams.
9. Maintain qualification status (regarding cGMP and safety) of production plants. Support production manager in engineering and maintenance topics.
10. Continuously work on potential improvement of internal processes and innovation.
11. Represent EI&C qualification and calibration during inspections by authorities and customer audits.
12. Adhere to technical directives and laws (Lonza Standards, SVTI, ATEX, and machinery directive, SOPs, etc.).
13. Ensure and manage interfaces to Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, QA, and QC.
14. Support preparation of GMP and Safety risk assessments and introduce expertise into these risk analyses.
15. Functional Responsibility as 'specialist/expert' for assigned topic according CHVI-7873 'EMR-Fachverantwortung' and as member of knowledge management team (KMT).
16. As member of Advanced Synthesis BioConjugates Plant Engineering Leadership Team responsible for all aspects representing his area.
Requirements:
* Recognized expert in EI&C Engineering, Maintenance, and Calibration.
* Very good understanding of business and financial processes.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Ability to communicate internally and externally at higher levels; strong business understanding.
* Strong team orientation.
* Structured and proactive working attitude.
* Open-minded for new ideas and suggestions.
* Structured, focused, and well-organized working attitude.
* Agile, highly motivated, and dynamic drive.
