It offers master's and doctoral programs in digital humanities and collaborates with various university departments, focusing on areas such as computational photography, media studies, AI and society, and more.
We invite applications for a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join the SNSF-funded project "Digital Originals in 3D" (D2M), a collaboration between the University of Basel, Bern University of the Arts, and FHNW. The project aims to develop automated pipelines for capturing and processing 3D digital twins of cultural artifacts using advanced imaging technologies.
You will be responsible for:
1. Developing and operating robotic multi-modal capture systems (SfM-MVS, eRTI, Photometric Stereo).
2. Designing workflows for automated photogrammetric acquisition and reconstruction in GLAM contexts.
3. Contributing to data registration, metadata acquisition, and model evaluation.
4. Collaborating with heritage partners like the Swiss National Museum and SIK-ISEA, and preparing evaluation reports and white papers.
