Electronics Engineer (f/m/d)

Venture Unit Soft Sensing & Actuation

At Datwyler’s Venture Unit Soft Sensing & Actuation, as an Electronics Engineer, you will support the productization of two new-to-the-industries sensing and actuation technologies through a mix of internal and external electronic firmware development. You will work at the intersection of hardware, software and material – transforming early‑stage prototypes into scalable, reliable and manufacturable products. This is a hands‑on, cross‑disciplinary role that combines creativity, technical depth and project management – ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast‑paced, exploratory environments.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Lead and execute electronic and firmware development projects for our soft sensing and actuation technologies, from prototype to production
* Design and validate electronic architectures for two novel technologies
* Develop and test embedded firmware for control, signal processing and communication
* Perform make‑or‑buy analyses and manage both internal and external development activities
* Collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and integration
* Document and define technical requirements and track project milestones through to verification and validation
* Adapt generic electronic platforms to specific customer applications and integration requirements
* Assemble, test and debug prototypes as well as develop supporting documentation

Your Profile

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
* 5–10 years of experience in electronic or embedded systems development
* Experience with high‑voltage systems and safe laboratory practices
* Strong skills in C programming for embedded applications
* Experience in firmware testing, debugging and validation
* Familiarity with hardware design, simulation and PCB layout
* Hands‑on mindset – comfortable with soldering, testing and circuit troubleshooting
* Proven ability to manage suppliers and coordinate external engineering partners
* Strong understanding of project management methods, both waterfall and agile
* Excellent communication skills in English (min. C1); German is a plus
* Autonomous, trustworthy and results‑oriented, with excellent teamwork and communication skills

Why Join Us

* Work on cutting‑edge technologies that are reshaping industries from healthcare to mobility
* Be part of an agile, interdisciplinary venture team within a globally recognised company and experience a flexible and open work culture that values initiative, learning and creativity
* Enjoy the freedom to experiment and prototype in a fast‑paced environment
* Collaborate with a network of visionary researchers, engineers and industry partners
