ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on AC and DC systems, including inverters, PV modules, transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage componentsMonitor plant operations through SCADA and contribute to commissioning, testing, and system modificationsFollow strict safety protocols, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), ensuring compliance with site proceduresTroubleshoot electrical systems and support maintenance as requiredWork with remote operators to identify and resolve site issues efficientlyMaintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using CMMS softwareProvide guidance to other technicians as appropriate to experience levelExecute installation tasks with proficiency in torquing, calibration, and the use of specialized tools
May also be required toLead advanced troubleshooting across multiple OEM platforms, including controls interface and system diagnosticsDevelop and implement Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and electrical work plansRead, interpret, and develop complex work procedures, schematics, and safety protocolsServe as the primary customer interface, communicating site conditions, needs, and technical findings to internal and external stakeholdersVerify tooling and parts against work plans, relay necessary adjustments, and generate reports on findings and recommendationsTrain and mentor junior technicians, fostering deep safety standards and adherence to industry-approved practicesDevelop and execute work plans and maintenance schedules
RequirementsValid driver's licenseHigh school diploma or equivalent; electrical certifications or industry training preferredExperience in large-scale solar O&M (experience requirements vary by position level)Competency in industrial or utility power operations, troubleshooting, and general maintenance proceduresProficiency in reading electrical schematics, operating SCADA systems, and using CMMS for maintenance trackingStrong computer skills, particularly in SCADA and CMMS applications
Advanced positions may require4+ years of direct or related experience in the solar industryAdvanced knowledge of LOTO procedures and electrical work planningProficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining multiple OEM systemsAbility to create complex schematics and work instructionsStrong experience with industrial control interfacesAdvanced organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing requests
Fitness for DutyStand, walk (including covering 2+ miles in a day), climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods in varying weather conditionsLift and carry tools or equipment weighing up to 80 poundsMaintain clear visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) for reading schematics and working with tools and metersHandle precise tasks that require fine motor skills and strong hand-eye coordinationWork outside of normal business hours as necessary.
