Senior Product Manager - Precision Weighing & Laboratory Instrumentation
Our client is a long-established Swiss manufacturer of precision measuring equipment, with more than 100 years of technical heritage. Known historically for developing high-precision electronic devices, the company has evolved into a global supplier of premium weighing and analytical solutions serving laboratories, academia, and a wide range of industrial sectors. With a significant anniversary approaching, the business continues to prioritise innovation, quality manufacturing, and customer‑driven product development.
Research, development, and production are all centralised at their Swiss headquarters, enabling fast decision‑making and strong alignment between teams. While part of a larger international group, the organisation maintains an agile and collaborative environment with approximately 35 employees locally.
This vacancy has arisen due to the planned departure of a long‑standing product specialist who has played a key role in the development of the organisation’s current portfolio. Instead of seeking a direct like‑for‑like replacement, the company is searching for an ambitious individual capable of stepping into a strategic leadership role over time. The position sits within the senior management structure and involves close collaboration with both the CEO and the Head of R&D—an experienced technical leader with more than two decades in the business.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of the full lifecycle of a precision instrumentation portfolio.
* Conduct market and customer needs analysis, shape product strategy, and prepare and manage roadmaps.
* Translate client challenges into technical requirements for the engineering team.
* Prioritise development activities in collaboration with R&D; manage product evolution and support launches.
* Define positioning and messaging for the market.
* Interact regularly with customers across Europe, including site visits, demonstrations, and support commercial teams with expert product insight.
* Occasional travel to international group locations may be required.
Qualifications
* Strong technical understanding and commercial awareness.
* Strategic thinking and ability to collaborate across engineering, marketing, commercial and leadership teams.
* Proactive, structured and motivated by growth into a future senior executive role.
* Fluency in German and French is a strong advantage.
