In the HPC, AI and Hewlett Packard Labs Business Unit, we focus on cutting edge, high-performance, high-scale customer solutions serving a wide range of industries and end-users. Our organization includes High Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Labs.
We have an exciting opportunity for an HPC technical Consultant to participate in the delivery and implementation of HPC Services at our customers in Switzerland (Lugano). Additional customer sites may be located mainly in DACH, occasionally in larger Europe, and will require some travel to engage with the team and the customer.
In a typical day as an HPC Technical Consultant
* Apply your technical background and knowledge of industry trends to deliver HPC services, including both hardware and software, for HPC supercomputer systems, clusters and storage systems
* Analyze, qualify, troubleshoot, resolve incidents with the right level of autonomy & expertise
* Collaborate with team members, other internal organizations, customers, and third parties (e.g. Intel, AMD, DDN, Red Hat, Altair, Nvidia…)
* Represent HPE in front of the customer, including verbal & written communication
* Be available to travel to European customer sites
* Research HPC documentation & complete required training to maintain and develop HPC skills
If you are
* Educated in a technical First Level University degree or years of system administration experience.
* Highly interested in the technical knowledge of the overall architecture for HPC products and solutions
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with client relationship management
* Fluent in Polish and English
* Technical skills:
o Linux/Unix operating systems
o Knowledge of programming and scripting (e.g. Perl, Python, C++, etc.)
* General understanding of:
o Networking and security
o Storage systems
o Orchestration and automation
* Possessing a B-class driver’s license
Training and development
* HPE HPC supercomputers
* High-speed networks
* HPC file systems
* Containerization and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm
* Workload managers (preferably SLURM and/or PBS-pro)
* Cluster management systems
* Server components including motherboards, memory and storage, network switches
