Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices. /p h3Qualifications: /h3 pEducation/Certification: None specified /p pSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions /p pWorking knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures /p pAbility to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools /p pAbility to perform basic arithmetic operations /p pExperience: None /p h3Major Responsibilities and Duties: /h3 h3Food Preparation and Serving /h3 pPrepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested, uniform recipes /p pServe food according to meal schedules, departmental policies, and procedures /p pPractice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers /p pMaintain clean and organized storage areas. /p h3Safety and Sanitation /h3 pOperate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards /p pFollow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety /p pKeep garbage collection containers and areas neat and sanitary /p pCorrect unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately /p pMaintain personal appearance and hygiene /p h3Other /h3 pHandle and record cashier functions accurately /p pHelp record food requisitions and orders necessary supplies /p pMaintain daily food preparation records /p pPromote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members /p pHelp manage inventory by putting away delivered food and supplies and rotating stock using the FIFO method. /p pThis is a federally funded position.
