Legal Counsel - Maternity Cover (Employment & Commercial Law)
Our client, a leading global FMCG organisation operating across multiple international markets, with a strong focus on branded consumer products and large‑scale manufacturing, is seeking a Legal Counsel (maternity leave cover) to join their team.
Responsibilities
* Advise on Swiss employment law (Swiss and broader global HR initiatives)
* Draft and review commercial and international contracts
* Support plant‑related HR matters and regional/global employment projects
* Advise on GDPR and Swiss data protection compliance
* Collaborate with internal teams across sales, distribution, manufacturing, and HR
* Communicate clearly with both legal and non‑legal stakeholders
* Contribute to policy updates, legal risk assessments, and cross‑functional projects
Qualifications
* Swiss qualified lawyer
* 3–4+ years' PQE, ideally with in‑house legal experience
* Strong knowledge of commercial law, Swiss employment law, contract law, and data privacy
* Fluent in German and English (day‑to‑day communication in German for Swiss related work)
* Experience with commercial agreements, including distribution contracts
* Practical, solution‑oriented mindset and ability to make short, clear, pragmatic choices
* Collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills
* Interest in international business, and the ability to work across diverse cultures
