POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician Level 4 (FST4) is a senior field technician responsible for executing complex maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. This role provides technical leadership on site, interfaces with customers, and ensures quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
Core Responsibilities
* Lead field execution for complex LV/MV maintenance, startup, and modernization projects.
* Perform advanced testing, diagnostics, and corrective repairs.
* Commission ATS, switchgear, generators, and associated controls.
* Direct equipment isolation, grounding, and energized work planning when required.
* Mentor and supervise junior technicians.
* Interface directly with customers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills & Knowledge
* Advanced understanding of electrical distribution systems.
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to interpret detailed schematics and protection logic.
* Proven leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* 5–8 years relevant experience.
* OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
* Manufacturer certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work in industrial environments and confined spaces.
* Willingness to travel to job sites as required (40-60%).
Career Progression
Positioned for FST5 or Field Engineer advancement.
