What you will do
Support operational performance in the US region by implementing an IE strategy that enables productivity improvement. This role will be responsible for monitoring and planning capacity and utilization, and future plant operating plans aligned to a 5-year capital and financial plan, partnering with Finance and Supply Chain organizations. In addition, this role will partner with Operations to develop lean strategies for employee incentive pay systems, support ergonomic programs and material flow analysis. This role will have indirect reporting of Industrial Engineering roles at the manufacturing plants.
The Regional Industrial Engineer is a part of the OPEX team based out on one of our plants locations, and traveling 50% to Toledo, OH, St. Joseph, MO, Winston Salem, NC, Tampa, FL, Geneva, IL or any other FIP / DAP plant.
How you will do it
* Coordination and standardization of the productivity / OEE calculation (including cycle time)
* Coordination and standardization of the deployment of the follow tools (Gap Analysis, Standardized Work, Cycle Time Analysis, Work element time studies, Value Stream Mapping, Spaghetti diagrams, KANBAN, etc.) in each of the US plants
* Support strategic projects related to expansion or capacity increase by launching appropriate tools
* Benchmarking between the plants and other regions, to ensure the deployment of best practices
* Establish IE metrics (ie : non-value add, value add, % utilization, losses, minutes per hour, change over efficiency, etc.)
* Manage monitoring, approval, and tracking of full time equivalent and headcount allocation for all plants
* Establish manpower benchmarks, manpower targets, and manage annual productivity plans
* Maintain gap analysis plans linked to Plant IE managers
* Identify improvement projects to eliminate the no value added in the plants
* Support the reduction of downtime in the plants on a systematic way
* Responsible for fostering effective employee relations
* Providing ad-hoc analysis on special request
* Performs any other duties as assigned
* Travel up to 50%
What we look for
Required :
* Bachelor’s Degree required (preferable Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering)
* 8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
* Must have very strong process knowledge and linked with the cost and benchmark
* Strong communication skills and presentation skills for presenting to leadership on strategy and performance improvement required
* Influence with data the necessary changes in the plants to achieve operational excellence
Desired :
* Previous experience with Six Sigma or Lean
* Operational experience and financial acumen
