Job Details
On behalf of our client, a well-established company operating in the steel and energy sector, we are looking for a refractory Sales Engineer based in Germany. Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and expand the existing customer base in the steel industry.
Acquire new customers, analyze market potentials and developments.
Advise customers on selecting the right refractory products and solutions.
Organize necessary technical and commercial visits to customers.
Understand technical specifications/drawings and customer requirements.
Supervise refractory installations and follow up on trials.
Work effectively in a heavy industry environment when required.
Edit and deliver product presentations.
Prepare quotations and conduct negotiations.
Manage commercial aspects of the order process.
Monitor market trends and develop sales strategies.
Participate in trade fairs and industry events.
Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales Back Office, R&D, Production, and Logistics.
Additional Responsibilities
Report to management in Switzerland.
Perform any other activities necessary to reach targets.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Metallurgy, Material Science, or Industrial Chemistry.
At least 5 years of professional experience in refractory technical sales within the steel industry, steel production, or refractory manufacturing.
Knowledge of steel production processes and applications of refractory products.
Proficiency in MS Office and related systems.
Strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
Analytical, goal-oriented working style.
Motivated, committed personality with a team-oriented and intercultural approach.
High empathy and relationship management skills.
Fluent in German; English at least B2 level.
Location: Company office in Ratingen, Germany. Full remote work option available. Willingness to travel frequently is required.
