Senior Director, Programme Management & Governance Lead
This highly visible leadership role will lead the governance, orchestration, and delivery assurance of the Global Lonza Capability Centre (LCC) transformation programme, ensuring successful execution of a complex, multi-function transformation spanning multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end‑to‑end orchestration of the Global Lonza Capability Centre transformation programme, ensuring alignment across all workstreams, delivery waves, and strategic objectives.
* Act as the central integration point across design, technology, workforce, transition, and operational readiness activities to ensure successful programme execution.
* Provide strategic direction and subject‑matter expertise in Global Business Services and Capability Centre design, challenging assumptions and guiding decision‑making based on industry‑leading practices.
* Develop and maintain the integrated master programme roadmap, actively managing interdependencies, risks, timelines, and deliverables across all programme teams.
* Design and implement the programme governance framework, including steering committees, executive forums, toll‑gate reviews, decision rights, and escalation processes.
* Ensure programme quality, readiness, and governance standards are consistently applied across all phases of the transformation lifecycle.
* Oversee integrated wave planning and validate readiness across infrastructure, technology, workforce, transition, and service delivery activities prior to go‑live.
* Partner closely with transformation leaders, implementation teams, and business stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve programme risks, bottlenecks, and execution challenges.
* Drive programme performance management through robust RAID processes, dependency tracking, financial oversight, and executive reporting mechanisms.
* Monitor budget consumption, scope management, and value realization, ensuring execution remains aligned with the approved business case and strategic objectives.
* Act as the primary interface between the programme, executive leadership, and the Transformation Office, providing clear, fact‑based communication and decision support.
* Lead external consulting partners, service providers, and programme vendors to ensure high‑quality deliverables and successful programme outcomes.
* Promote continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned, strengthening governance practices, and enhancing programme execution capabilities across subsequent transformation waves.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive and proven experience leading Global Business Services (GBS), Shared Services, Global Capability Centres (GCC), or large‑scale enterprise transformation programmes in complex multinational organizations, preferably Swiss‑headquartered.
* Proven track record establishing and scaling Global Capability Centres, preferably in India, and delivering large‑scale operating model transformations.
* Deep expertise in programme governance, PMO leadership, executive steering, and the successful delivery of complex, multi‑workstream transformation programmes.
* Strong understanding of GBS and GCC operating models, including service management, transition management, governance, value realization, and business case delivery.
* Experience leading technology‑enabled transformations involving organizational design, workforce transitions, service migrations, and enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA.
* Strong knowledge of India’s capability centre ecosystem, including talent dynamics, regulatory considerations, and operational setup requirements.
* Experience operating within highly regulated industries, preferably life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or CDMO environments.
* Broad business understanding across functions including Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, and Master Data Management.
* Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to align senior executives, global teams, and external partners around a common transformation agenda.
* Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required; PMP (or equivalent certification) preferred.
* Fluency in English is required, German desirable.
* Willingness to travel globally (30 %+) is expected.
