Responsibilities
1. Advising on and managing the group’s tax position in selected European countries, including Central and Eastern Europe
2. Proactive management and support of tax audits at federal, regional, and local levels
3. Monitoring and ensuring proper handling of all tax matters, including tax accounting, tax compliance, tax disputes, and transfer pricing
4. Advising and supporting local finance teams on tax-related topicsTraining business partners on relevant tax law changes with a significant business impact
5. Building and maintaining strong networks with business units in the countries under responsibility
6. Analyzing the tax implications of transactions and providing high-quality tax advice
7. Ensuring transparent and professional communication with tax authorities
8. Responsibility for corporate income tax compliance and defense in tax audits
9. Identification, management, and mitigation of tax risks
10. Managing and overseeing processes relating to indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and other taxes
Profile
11. University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Law, preferably with a focus on taxation
12. Extensive and in-depth experience in a tax-related role, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry or at a Big 4 firm
13. Strong knowledge of tax laws and fiscal frameworks in the region, including Central and Eastern Europe
14. Solid understanding of income tax accounting
15. Strong tax research and presentation skills
16. Multilingual capability
17. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
18. Confident handling of ERP systems and tax-related software or comparable systems
19. Ability to analyze complex matters and present clear decision options
20. Ability to communicate and influence effectively across functions without direct line authority
