Become part of the English One team responsible for creating innovative educational courses for teens and young learners. We offer the opportunity to participate in all stages of the development and production process, from shaping the concept and creating materials to final implementation across all English One regions.
The Role
Be responsible for copyediting and proofreading educational content as part of the Kids and Teens Academic Design and Content team. QA final new content and make fixes to existing content to ensure user-friendly, error-free classroom, online and app course materials for language learners worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Copyediting and proofreading academic content for printed materials, physical classroom content, online classroom content, teacher notes, app activities and online self‑study to meet project specifications and deadlines
* Collaborating with academic, design and media departments and international offices to progress content as part of a project
* Maintaining, building upon and documenting house style
* Acting on feedback to improve and enhance the editing process and outcomes
* Proactively participating in the entire development process when required
* Researching and developing best practice for editing print, digital and mobile content.
Requirements
* Four years of editing experience
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in English Literature or Language, Publishing, Education, Modern Languages
* CEFR C2 level of English (mastery)
* Ability to copyedit 1,500 words per hour
* Ability to proofread 2,500 words per hour
* Exceptional standard of written English
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Ability to think and work independently and contribute as part of a team
* TEFL qualification (CELTA equivalent or above) is a plus
* Academic content and media production experience are a plus
* Experience with authoring tools such as Storyblok and Adobe Experience Manager, plus PPT and InDesign knowledge preferred.
