The Group Tax Analyst supports Group wide tax reporting, compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions. The role contributes to the preparation, review, and consolidation of current and deferred tax positions and tax disclosures, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Group accounting policies and local tax regulations. Working closely with Group Finance, local markets, auditors, and external advisers, the role supports the integrity of Group financial reporting, ETR forecasting, and tax governance.
Responsibilities
Coordinate interim and year end Group tax reporting in collaboration with Finance teams, auditors, and external advisers.
Build strong working relationships with finance and business stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of Group tax reporting cycles.
Act as a key representative of Group Tax for reporting matters and lead business partnering with the Group Financial Reporting team.
Support ETR forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis versus prior periods and plan.
Review and support the preparation of statutory tax disclosures and notes to the financial statements.
Governance, Controls & Documentation
Support the design and operation of tax accounting controls under internal control frameworks.
Assist with documentation for internal and external audits, including:
Deferred tax support schedules.
Uncertain tax position (UTP) analyses.
Contribute to Tax Control Framework (TCF) documentation and testing.
Support regional implementation of new tax accounting or reporting requirements (e.g. Pillar Two).
Lead technical tax accounting for Group Reporting; maintain IAS 12 knowledge.
Tax Risk, Audits & Provisions
Track regional tax audits, disputes, and exposures.
Assist with assessment and documentation of tax risks and provisions.
Support preparation of UTP analyses and coordination with Group Tax.
Ensure audit outcomes are reflected appropriately in tax reporting and provisions.
Regional Coordination & Governance
Act as the regional point of contact between local markets and Group Tax.
Ensure consistent application of group tax policies, tax control framework, and internal guidelines.
Oversight of the Group’s tax compliance programme including a review of all jurisdictional filings.
Data, Systems & Process Improvement
Support improvements in tax reporting processes, including standardisation and automation and data quality enhancements.
Work with Finance and IT on ERP and reporting tools (e.g. SAP) and adoption of tax technology tools.
Prepare tax reporting packs, dashboards, and management presentations.
Ad-hoc
Support Head of Tax with tax projects as they arise. Support other members of the Group tax team with ad hoc queries, projects and transactions as required.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent tax qualification (CTA or equivalent).
6+ years of relevant tax experience; experience in a big 4 audit/tax advisory firm and/or a tax function of a multinational group.
Fluent in English (both written and oral).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective partnering with non tax professionals across a cross functional organisation to proactively anticipate business needs and provide practical tax support to the business.
Desired Criteria
Strong knowledge of tax accounting and reporting standards (IAS 12).
Solid understanding of corporate income tax and deferred taxation mechanics.
Experience with tax provision tools or Excel-based provision models.
Comfortable analysing ETR drivers and explaining variances to senior stakeholders.
Previous experience of working within an ERP / SAP.
