Overview
Data Specialist – CDO Global Black Belt at Microsoft. This role focuses on building trust with Chief Data Officers (CDOs) of large accounts, guiding them to build the Data Foundations for AI Transformation, and standardizing on the Microsoft Intelligent Data platform. The role engages with CDOs to drive adoption of Azure Data & AI Services, with emphasis on MACC accounts.
Responsibilities
* Establish trusted advisor relationships with senior business and technology executives (CDO, CIO, CISO, CTO) in top accounts by delivering value through Azure-led innovation and contributing to CDO community forums, executive panels, and strategic storytelling.
* Influence CDOs to standardize on the Microsoft Data & AI platforms across Analytics, Data Governance, and Databases to support AI transformation.
* Drive growth of Azure Data Services in key accounts, focusing on MACC accounts; aim to increase Azure Data Services share of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) in MACC agreements and win new MACCs.
* Identify and remove blockers to progress, provide deal strategy support with deep expertise in top partner offerings, pricing/models, use cases, and business value articulation for the specialist area.
* Coach on competitive strategy against major Public Cloud providers, demonstrating superior solutions and securing business commitment.
* Spot repeatable sales patterns and scale them across the field; provide feedback to Go-To-Market teams to shape better sales strategies.
* Collaborate with enablement to transfer knowledge to sales roles through deal coaching, training, and structured knowledge sharing.
* Act as a thought leader by speaking at events, publishing articles, and sharing best practices.
Key Outcomes
* Increase ADS share of ACR in MACC accounts.
* Improve consistency and effectiveness in CDO engagements across time zones.
* Document best practices and winning formulas for CDO engagements.
* Drive data & AI solution plays that lead to business growth and customer success.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs)
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, and growing experience in technology-related sales or account management; OR significant experience in technology-related sales or account management.
* Significant experience leading sales of large cloud engagements, especially those involving Data, Analytics and AI solutions to large/global enterprise customers.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications (PQs)
* Sales Account Planning and Management: disciplined pipeline management, understanding of licensing, deal negotiation, partner ecosystems, and leveraging partner solutions.
* Executive Presence: experience selling to senior decision makers by aligning business value and cost savings with strategic opportunities.
* Collaborative: ability to orchestrate and influence virtual sales/technical/support/partner teams.
* Consumption Business Strategy / Project Management: experience with cloud adoption methodologies for application migration projects.
* Deep understanding of Microsoft Data platform and Azure Data & AI Services.
* Competitive Landscape: knowledge of enterprise software solutions and cloud/AI competitors (e.g., AWS, GCP).
* Microsoft Partners: understanding of partner ecosystems and using partner solutions to meet customer needs.
For Austria Only: The salary for this role is starting from EURO 182,600 per annum depending on experience.
