Overview

Product Safety Specialist - Electronic Diagnostics Instruments (m/f/d) at Work Selection. This is a temporary assignment of 12 months with high probability of extension. As a first-tier supplier to Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are looking for a motivated and dedicated Product Safety Specialist - Electronic Diagnostics Instruments to join our global unit "Diagnostics Product Sustainability und Compliance".

The Compliance Operations department is responsible for the data and processes within Diagnostics Quality und Regulatory that enable chemical and environmentally compliant and sustainable development, transport/handling, marketing and disposal of Roche Diagnostics products throughout the product life cycle. We aim to ensure compliance in the interests of patients and to reduce the environmental impact of our products and services.


Responsibilities

* Responsible for comprehensive and effective data management of large datasets for chemical legislation (e.g. REACH, RoHS, POP, Cal. Prop 65, TSCA) and Extended Producer Responsibility obligations (Packaging, Batteries and WEEE) within SAP EHundS(M) and in future S/4HANA, ensuring compliance and sustainability of electronic devices.
* Maintain, develop, and improve high-performance automated data solutions (e.g. Robotics Process Automation, Python, scripts).
* Ensure data conformity, quality and integrity (according to data model) and perform plausibility checks.
* Eliminate waste by simplifying processes and automating redundant manual tasks; support automated report creation.
* Interact with suppliers, internal customers, and subject matter experts to ensure thorough evaluation and accuracy of EHundS data.
* Manage EHundS Compliance Assessments for new product launches and updates, and manage material changes affecting chemical compliance.
* Serve as contact person (1st level support) for data requests and reports from customers.


Qualifications / Must-Haves

* Master's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, natural sciences, material sciences, information sciences or comparable.
* Relevant experience in electronics, (medical) device or automotive industry in product safety (e.g. EHundS data management, material declaration, product stewardship).
* Sound understanding of chemical composition of materials used in electronics, devices and packaging.
* Experience with chemical legislations (e.g. REACH, RoHS, POP, Cal. Prop 65, TSCA) and Extended Producer Responsibility obligations (Packaging, Batteries and WEEE).
* Very good knowledge of (global) chemical regulatory legislation and EPR obligations is preferred.
* Affinity for handling large data, process automation, and data science for supplier governance and oversight.
* Understanding of system and data management to effectively manage material declarations and compliance documentation.
* Negotiation and communication skills; ability to request material information effectively.
* Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with suppliers.
* Experience with agile project management or working in an agile environment.
* Experience with automation tools (RPA, Python, scripts) and managing large datasets of chemical compliance data in electronics/medical devices/automotive.
* Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Workspace; fluent in English (spoken and written).
