Overview
We are looking for an R&D Low Voltage Engineer to work on the development and optimization of low‑voltage protection product. This role is based in Schaffausen, Switzerland.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate tasks within cross‑functional teams to investigate technical challenges, develop innovative solutions, and prepare recommendations.
* Analyze technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to support decision‑making processes.
* Drive product engineering activities for low‑voltage protection products and miniature circuit breakers.
* Support development and optimization of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing sites, and engineering teams on a global level.
* Ensure design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) and design‑for‑assembly (DFA) principles are applied throughout development.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly processes, including manual and automated production environments.
* Act as Project Manager for product development initiatives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
* At least 6 years of professional experience in a relevant engineering environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems for low‑voltage products.
* Proficiency in the design of mechanical and electrical interfaces, plastic and metallic parts design.
* Proven experience with manual and automated assembly processes for low‑voltage components.
* Very good knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
* Good understanding of project management methodologies with proven practical experience.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* High level of self‑motivation and ownership.
* Fast learner with a proactive and results‑oriented mindset.
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork capabilities.
* Fluent in German and English.
