As part of the global Biomedical Research data science community (>300 members), you will access extensive resources in compute, data analysis, data engineering, and AI/ML.
Responsibilities
* Develop, validate, and implement image-processing workflows and algorithms for cellular assay development and characterization.
* Assess imaging needs of microscopy projects and implement innovative image and data processing solutions, including generative AI.
* Communicate findings to diverse scientific audiences and recommend next steps in experiments and in silico analyses.
* Integrate high-content imaging with molecular data modalities to drive target discovery and validation.
* Educate and mentor colleagues in AI/ML applications in biomedical imaging.
Minimum Requirements
PhD or MS in computer science, biomedical image computing, computational imaging, or related quantitative field.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of relevant experience in industry or academia, such as postdoctoral research.
Skills
* Proficiency in Python and R, with experience in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
* Background in computer vision or computational imaging applied to cellular biology, with a proven ability to innovate.
* Experience in parallel data processing in HPC and cloud environments.
* Proven track record with image analysis software such as CellProfiler, ImageJ/FIJI, Napari, ilastik, or Imaris.
* Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization, and reproducible research practices.
* High learning agility and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience in education and mentorship in data science and AI.
Desirable
* Experience analyzing images from various microscopy modalities, including high-content screening, electron microscopy, light-sheet, and confocal microscopy.
* Drug discovery experience, especially in target identification and lead finding.
* Experience with omics data (e.g., spatial transcriptomics) and MLOps.
* Note: Working flexibility may be restricted and will be discussed during interviews.
