Senior / Program Manager, Freedom in Practice
Rising Tide GmbH is a globally‑active philanthropic organisation based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, dedicated to advancing a dual mission so that freedom and quality of life are promoted worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Senior / Program Manager to oversee our Freedom in Practice grant portfolio, develop new funding initiatives, contribute to strategic planning, monitor grantees and represent the foundation at events and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and expand the Removal of Barriers & Free Speech funding areas in collaboration with the Managing Director.
* Support grant selection and due diligence for grant applications; prepare content and presentations for board meetings.
* Manage an approved grant portfolio (≈15–20 grants) throughout award periods, providing oversight and administrative support.
* Maintain close relationships with grantees, conduct site visits, and evaluate program effectiveness.
* Represent Rising Tide Foundation at conferences and relevant events.
* Contribute to strategic planning, working with the CEO, Managing Director, and the team to refine the plan annually and develop corresponding budgets for board approval.
* Lead community‑building activities, including online and in‑person events and platform development.
* Handle communication tasks for the Freedom in Practice team.
Qualifications
* Minimum five years’ proven track record in grant or non‑profit management.
* Strong commitment to classical liberal principles and their role in sustaining a free society.
* Expertise in applying these principles in real‑world contexts, especially in eliminating barriers to human flourishing and free speech.
* International network of social entrepreneurs, universities, think‑tanks, NGOs, and potential grantees.
* High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to build long‑lasting relationships with stakeholders.
* Process‑oriented with attention to detail, ready to improve grant‑management processes.
* Ability to move quickly, respond to opportunities, and take initiative on new projects.
* A proactive, communicative personality with strong teamwork, professionalism, and reliability.
* Fluency in English; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus.
