ASCOR AG is a dynamic and growing international commodity trading firm specializing in European and Mediterranean markets. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Accountant to join the Finance team. In this role, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance with Swiss and international financial standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to cross-border accounting practices in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage financial accounting including processing of invoices, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
* Ensure proper documentation and review of all transactions posted in the general ledger.
* Allocate revenues, COGS, and related expenses to specific trade deals.
* Handle commodities stock accounting and bank collaterals.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Manage payroll and VAT accounting.
* Handle payment transactions and communication with banks.
* Participate in group cash flow planning and FX transactions.
* Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
* Support external audits.
* Interact with other team members and the Board daily.
* Maintain and set up the accounting software (Abacus, Bexio).
* Handle various administrative matters for the Swiss company, including travel documentation support for the General Manager.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Swiss certification (e.g., Fachausweis / CPA) or equivalent qualification is a plus.
* 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commodities trading or an international firm.
* Solid knowledge of GL accounting.
* Experience with consolidation and multi-currency environments.
* Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Abacus, SAP).
* Fluent communication skills in English and German.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across time zones and cultures.
