Job Description

We are looking for a Marketing Automation Manager who will be responsible for executing marketing campaigns using our digital marketing platforms, such as Marketo, Knak, and ON24.

This role requires a technically savvy marketing automation professional who will collaborate with teammates in the and Europe. Collaborators include, but are not limited to, Europe Marketing Operations and Communications, Europe Regional Marketing, Digital Marketing Channel Experts, IT, Brand and Creative, and Customer Support teams.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Automation Manager in the and aligned with the Global Campaign Operations team, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Director of Marketing Operations and Communications in Europe, the incumbent will spend much of their time supporting customer communications, events, audience, and campaign development by leveraging Marketo and other marketing technologies. This role may include designing behavior-based trigger workflows to support event attendance management, managing email requests and building them in Knak, and performing quality assurance reviews to ensure alignment with email best practices, brand standards, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory requirements. The Marketing Automation Manager will also ensure data is properly synced to Salesforce for accurate analytics and performance tracking.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Building Email Communications and Landing PagesCollaborate with marketing teams to deliver high-quality email communications that align with campaign goals. Proactively identify gaps and recommend solutions to improve performanceDevelop and maintain functional email templates optimized for responsive, mobile-friendly, and dark mode-friendly email experiences, while adhering to brand guidelines
2. Optimizing Emails and Conducting Quality AssuranceImplement A/B testing to optimize email engagement and performanceConduct quality assurance and testing for emails to ensure proper rendering across devices and email clients, maintain brand consistency, and minimize spam scores by adhering to deliverability best practices
3. Troubleshoot technical issues with ESP service representatives and internal stakeholders related to tracking, implementation, and deployment of campaigns
4. Developing Marketo Programs and Smart CampaignsCollaborate with Europe Marketing Operations, Communications and Europe country marketing teams to develop and execute automation strategies across customer journeys, contact management, segmentation, and success measurementBuild and manage workflows in Marketo for key initiatives such as trade shows and webinars—including email invitations, reminders, landing pages, and formsLeverage data and insights to continuously optimize automation processes, improve audience targeting, and recommend enhancements to existing workflowsEstablish scalable business processes and governance standards for managing Marketo, including folder structures and support for a regionalized modelEnsure all marketing processes comply with local legal and regulatory requirements by partnering closely with regulatory and data privacy teamsProvide strategic guidance on content, behavioral triggers, lead scoring, segmentation, and performance reporting to ensure effective campaign executionMeasure and report on marketing program performance using both qualitative and quantitative dataCollaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Web, Creative, Social, and Publishing teams to align on data quality, content delivery, and performance tracking across channels

Qualifications

5. Over 10 years of digital marketing experience within a B2B enterprise marketing team, with at least 5 years focused on email marketing and marketing automation management, including building emails, landing pages, and automation programs
6. Hands-on experience with Marketo required; current Marketo Engage Business Practitioner certification is preferred
7. Advanced frontend HTML and CSS experience, including:Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code from scratch, or adapting existing code to meet business requirementsImplementing advanced coding practices, such as media queries and conditional formattingProficient in using Dreamweaver or a similar code editing programStrong understanding of user interface design/UI/UX principlesSkilled in developing and editing responsive email templates in HTML or through CMS systemsExperience in building landing pages from layered Photoshop Document (PSD) and Figma filesProficiency with Photoshop and Figma, to take designs from Photoshop and build them into a responsive emailAdvanced image editing skills for cropping, optimizing, and modifying assets for email and web use
8. Proven ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization and drive alignment across global and regional cross-functional teams
9. Deep understanding of workflow processes and systems within a marketing/sales cycle
10. Well-versed in data standardization and normalization
11. Meticulous attention to detail in both content and process execution
12. Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and commitment to follow-through
13. Fluent in English, French and/or German required
14. Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, including the ability to travel overseas
