Join Lonza as a Record to Report Supervisor (temp) and lead our ambitious team in Costa Rica to financial excellence This role is pivotal in driving flawless financial and accounting operations within our growing finance department. Your leadership will ensure that our world-class standards are met and exceeded.
Key responsibilities:
1. Coordinate the work of accountants, providing day-to-day support and mentorship.
2. Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and reconcile general ledger accounts.
3. Provide proactive training, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to develop the team.
4. Ensure and deliver outstanding service to both internal and external customers.
5. Build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers.
6. Initiate and lead meetings to resolve accounting issues impacting profit and loss statements, collaborating with Accounts Payable, Controllers, Accounts Receivable, Corporate Accounting, and other relevant teams.
7. Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
8. Coordinate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of overdue items.
9. Address and resolve accounting-specific questions and ensure accurate accounting of financial transactions.
10. Communicate effectively with the R2R Manager, providing updates on issues, roadblocks, and team accomplishments.
11. Ensure adherence to all accounting policies, ICS controls, and global processes.
12. Understand and align with departmental processes and procedures crafted to support internal controls.
13. Provide backup support to the team during absences.
Key requirements:
14. Proven experience in accounting or finance, with a strong track record of supervising and developing teams.
15. Outstanding knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles.
16. Ability to work closely with collaborators, including accounting authorities and auditors.
17. Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial transactions and reconciliations.
18. Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to the R2R Manager and other collaborators.
19. Dedication to adhering to established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
